Abia State government releases funds for grading of roads

Abians who will travel to their respective villages this yuletide have been assured of motor able roads to drive on as the state government after one of its recent executive council meeting, approved the release of the sum of N10million each to the seventeen local governments area of the state for the purpose of grading roads.

According to the report, the N10 million is for the grading of ten roads in each LGA including federal and state roads. It was also revealed that the state governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has concluded plans to start immediate reconstruction of roads across the state come January, 2016.

The governor directed the local government transition committee chairmen to grade roads to its boundaries with other LGA to ensure that Abians have a smooth drive.

In another development, the state government has intensified its efforts at ensuring that most roads in Aba are reconstructed before the Christmas season. The government had earlier given most of the contractors handling the project a three week ultimatum to complete their work and has ordered some of the commissioners to relocate to Aba in other to supervise such projects.
