Barely two weeks after Lion Chinenye Nwaka was inducted President of Lions Club of District 404 A1(Nigeria), Anthony Village, her sister-in-law, Lion Chibuzor Ogbonnaya, received the diadem as President of District 404 B-2 Nigeria, Lagos Mainland, Lions Club. Hers took place on October 26, at the Neniv Conference and Events Centre, Mafolukwu, Lagos. She succeeds Lion Toyin Abubakar.
Also incorporated in the investiture ceremony was a fundraiser, which attracted goodwill donations from guests.
The event commenced at about 2pm after the arrival of guests who came from far and near. The occasion was chaired by Prince Emeka Urechukwu, Managing Director of Saclux Industries Nig. Ltd. Other special guests were Sir Adindu Elekaw; Co-chairman, Lion (Engr.) Jaiye Balogun; Guest Speaker, Peace Ambassador Austin Orji; Chief Launcher, Lion (Mrs.) Olatokunboh Edun; Guest of Honour, Ezinne (Mrs) Ngozi Ruby Odega (JP) and other of the day; as well as the District Governor; Lion (Alhaji) Abdul Ganiyu Adedeji.
Lion Ogbonnaya was installed the 21st President for the 2014/2015 Lions year.
In her acceptance speech, Lion Ogbonnaya recalled that her journey started from the Simons Lion Club, Anthony Village, revealing that the focus of her administration will be the replacement of Cornea for over 1000 affected persons. She solicited the financial support of the quests to enable her carry out the enormous task ahead.
