Aro News Editor Buries Grandmother

The remains of Madam Annah Nwangaji Umezuruike (Nee Kanu), grandmother of Aro News Managing Editor Ugo Okoro was buried on Tuesday the 13th of September, 2016 at Uturu Isi Ala, Ubakala, Umuahia South LGA of Abia State.

Nne-nne, as she was fondly called was survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mary Okoro, seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. During her life time, she was a professional pot maker and farmer. After the mysterious death of her husband and three sons at Nsukwe, Ubakala, she relocated to her kith and kin at Eziama with her only surviving child, a girl.

She was taken to Elelenwo in Rivers State by her elder brother and there, sheengaged in farming and trading and relocated back home during the Nigeria civil war.

Back home, Nwangaji engaged in the business of buying and selling of kola nut, bitter kola and tobacco.
She was a member of St Andrew Catholic Church, Ubakala; Catholic Women Organisation and St. Anthony of Pauda, a prayer group she and a Christian brother introduced to the church.

Her transition to eternity occurred on the 22 nd of June, 2016.
