The Caretaker Committee of Nzuko Arochukwu, Home branch men’s wing recently thwarted the efforts of some unscrupulous persons including umu Aro to remove hospital equipments at the Arochukwu General Hospital.
The branch which was reinvigorated by the centre when it set up a caretaker committee to run its affairs on the 10th of June, 2017, was also mandated amongst other things, to hold an election within three months of its inauguration.
In its first meeting held on the 16th of July, 2017 and hosted by the trio of Mazi Jeremiah Onwumere, Mazi Iheanyichukwu Inyama (Boom) and Mazi Paul Ogbonnaya (Ponneco), over seventy people attended.
The branch soon received a security report that some persons were making efforts to steal some vital medical equipments sent to the hospital by the state government. On arrival at the scene, it was discovered that the collaborators had already loaded the equipments in a pickup van and ready to leave before the prompt intervention of the Mazi Jeremiah Onwumere led exco, the DPO of Arochukwu police station and Ujari youth leader Oji Okoro Oji served the situation. All the equipments were thereafter recovered and returned to the hospital store for safe keeping.
