The Managing Director of Anambra /Imo River Basin Authority, Mr. Michael Nwabufo, on December 13, 2017, visited the senator representing Abia North in the National Asembly, Senator Mao Arukwe Ohuabunwa, FNIST.
During the visit, the Managing Director pledged speedy completion of projects domiciled in the Authority as it concerns Abia North. Some of the projects include the Ndiebe Bailey Bridge, Arochukwu Water Scheme and Reticulation, Umunneochi Water Scheme and the Nkporo Water Scheme.
Responding, Sen. Ohuabunwa thanked the MD for his visit and charged him to ensure the speedy completion of the projects.
In another development, Sen. MAO has followed up on his campaign promises to the electorate by ensuring that several projects in the zone are awarded to alleviate some of the hardship faced by the constituents.
He recently facilitated the award of a contract for the construction of a Basic Mini Sports Stadium in Arochukwu LGA to Messrs Bee Harris Investment Ltd, through the Federal Ministry of Sports and Youth Development; award of a contract for the construction of a Primary Health Care Centre at Umunnekwu to Ikonadu Concept Ltd; another contract to Centre Energy Services Ltd for the construction of another Primary Health Care Centre at Ndioji; yet another Primary Health Care Centre at Uburuihe to Wellness Energy Result Ltd; an award of a contract to Clinton Enterprises Nig Ltd for the construction of a Primary Health Care Centre at Usaka Ukwu and the award for the construction of another Primary Health Care Centre at Oror in Arochukwu to Arczee Ltd.
These. projects no doubt are all commendable effort by our distinguished senator to better the life of the people in his senatorial district .Most appreciated is that he didn’t limit these developmental effort only to his community like some may do but had spread it across his senatorial zone.However, I want to emphasize here on the economic school of thought called “Scale Of Preference”. The condition of Arochukwu roads which is now in a state of decay leaves much if not all to be desired. I was a witness two months ago when I visited him for exmas.Its embarrassing and undesirable more so as we have an indigene in the person of our distinguished from same town.It’s an undisputable fact that this project is not within his powers to just guve order and work commences.A lot is required.My opinion is that Mazi MAO should place this project as number one in his scale of preference,double size the rate and speed of effort already in place for the actualization of this goal. His distinguished should employ all level of political negotiation and manipulation to ensure that this project commences and is completed in no distant time.This will not only save us from constant embarrassment but also put the name of our brother MAO in the record book of Arochukwu.My take
