Jombo-ofo now PSC member, as Smith is appointed chairman

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Dr. Nkemka Osimiri Jombo-ofo as a member of the Police Service Commission (PSC), representing the South East zone.

The Commission has a retired Inspector General of Police, Mr. Musiliu Smith as its chairman. Other members of the commission are Justice Clara Bata Ogunbiyi (rtd) representing the North West and AIG Lawal Bawa (rtd) are to serve as full time commissioners.

Other members of the commission are Mohammed Najatu, representing North West; Briamoh Adogame Austin, representing South-South and Barrister Rommy Mom for North Central.

Their appointment is in compliance with the provision of section 154(1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.

A native of Atani village, Arochukwu, Dr. Ofo was born in 1950. He trained as a medical doctor at the University of Nigeria, Enugu campus and is at present the Chairman/CEO of Afro Equip Ltd and director of several other companies. He is a former member, Board of Directors of Pipeline and Products Marketing Company (PPMC); Chairman, Local Organising Committee, Enugu Zone; Nigeria 99 FIFA U 21 World Youth Championship; past President, Enugu Chamber of Commerce;  past Chairman, Eastern States Chambers of Commerce, Mines, Industry and Agriculture, Fellow of several professional bodies etc.

Ugwu Aro is married to Justice Ifeoma.
