The President General of Nzuko Arochukwu, Mazi George Okoronkwo Ezuma and his executives look set to be re-elected unopposed for a second term come Saturday, the 20th of April, 2019.

The election which will take at the Aro Kingdom Historic Civic Centre complex will be preceded by a Central Executive Committee meeting on the 19th of April, 2019.

As it stands, all members of the outgoing executives may be re-elected as no branch or individual have indicated interest to contest against the incumbents.

On the day, election will be held into the offices of the President General, First and Second Vice President Generals; Secretary and Assistant Secretary Generals, Financial and Assistant Secretary Generals; Treasurer General; Publicity Secretary General; Social/Welfare Secretary General; Legal Adviser General and Provost General.

The present executives of Nzuko Aro were elected into office on the 26th of March, 2016 at the same venue. It has so far successfully piloted the affairs of the union for three years.

The administration, for instance, graded the Okobo road twice to ease the travelling burden of Umu Aro before the state government constructed the bridge.

Some other achievements recorded during the tenure of the present exco include, the completion of the Aro Civic Centre, ongoing construction of Nkana road; ongoing construction of the Bende-Arochukwu-Ohafia road, construction of several internal roads; rebranding and transformation of Ikeji Aro celebrations; re-organisation of Aro  day celebrations.

It also set up of the Arochukwu Development Fund; appointment of National Patron and Advisers to the Body of Nzuko Aro National Patrons, harmonious relationship with the Council of Ndi Ezeogo; attraction of a modern hospital sponsored by Total Nig. Ltd and at the early period of its tenure, provided drinks for entertainment of guests at the Eze Aro palace.

Perhaps, the impasse between the Palace and Nzuko Aro stands out as the executives major challenge but the issue was recently resolved on 1st of January 2019, when Eze Aro, Mazi Ogbonnaya Okoro, in his new year address to the kingdom stated that he had pardoned the leadership of the union.  The Aba branch incident is another sore thumb in the life of the administration.
