A former Chairman of Arochukwu LGA, Hon. Nkem Enyi Okoro, has emerged Chairman of a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia State.
His faction is believed to be loyal to 2015 and 2019 governorship candidate of the party in the state, Dr. Alex Otti.
Meanwhile, Rev. Augustine Ehiemere’s faction of the party has dismissed the faction led by Nkem Okoro as impostors. They insisted that Rev. Ehiemere was returned as the state Chairman of the party at the national convention of the party which took place in Awka, the Anambra State capital and which equally returned Chief Victor Oye as the National Chairman of the party.
Information reaching Aro News is that the Nkem Okoro faction has taken over the party’s state secretariat.
Other members elected alongside Nkem Okoro include Hon. Elvis Wabara, Deputy Chairman; Chief Kalu Okpo Kalu, Vice Chairman (Abia North); Mr. Pino Nwagbaso, Vice Chairman (Abia South); Evang Innocent Okamgba, Vice Chairman (Abia Central); Dr. Onyebuchi Onyegbule, State Secretary and Hon. Finbars Ukaegbu, Assistant Secretary.
Others are Maureen Okonkwo, State Treasurer; Hon. Chibuike Ako, Assistant State Treasurer; Nnamdi Nwanganga, State Financial Secretary.
Engr. Amaechi Aniche, Assistant State Financial Secretary; Hon. Ebere Uzoukwa, State Publicity Secretary; Prince Ugwuzo, Assistant State Publicity Secretary; Barr. Grant Eboh, State Legal Adviser and Barr. Chukwudi Ifegwu, Assistant State Legal Adviser.
Mr. Uche Nwosu will serve as the State Organizing Secretary, Hon. Emma Oti, Assistant State Organizing Secretary, Hon. Christian Okeri, State Youth Leader, Nkem Esiaba, Assistant State Youth Leader, Mrs. B. U Ahia, State Woman Leader, Mrs. Victoria Onwubiko, Assistant State Woman Leader, Mrs. Nelly C. Ndukwe, State Welfare Secretary and Mrs. Ifeoma Ike, Assistant State Welfare Secretary.
Vincent Amaechi, Mr. Peter Okoro, Bertha Ehumadu will serve as ex-officio members.
The 17 congress elected local government chairmen are: Chief C. Ikeanumba, Aba North; Mr. Damian Okwaraibe, Aba South; Orji Okorie, Arochukwu; Lawrence Chukwunuru, Bende; Emmanuel Okebugwu, Ikwuano; Mr. Ako Nwosu, Isialangwa North; Hon. Peter Uzodinma; Isialangwa South.
Others are: Amisionwu Angela, Isuikwuato; Uzoma Emezuo, Obingwa; Hon. Kalu Mba Nwoke, Ohafia; Hon. Samuel Nkoro, Osisioma; Emeka Esiaba, Ugwunagbo; Onyebuchi Nnah, Ukwa East.
Mr. Anthony Chigbu is Ukwa West; Hon. Leonard Ogbonna, Umuahia North; Hon. Omerenma Ogbonna,Umuahia South, and Charles Orie,Umunneochi.
