Asaga village sponsors youths to govt’s empowerment programmes

Nzuko Asaga Arochukwu has disclosed its commitment to empower its youth population, to make them better citizens. To achieve this, the union has enrolled no fewer than 42 Asaga youths for different apprenticeship programmes in Arochukwu. About half of this number is being sponsored by the Asaga Grand Patron, Mazi Emma Kanu Ivi, while the rest are being sponsored by other Asaga philanthropists such as Mazi Eustace Onwumere, a successful entrepreneur. Indeed Asaga village union has also registered 30 youths for a six week Federal Government Industrial Training Fund Programme, which started in Owerri on  December 10, 2019. According to Secretary General of Nzuko Asaga, Barr Eustace Njaka, the training programme will commence fully on December 16, 2019, at ITF Regional Training Centre, Owerri. The beneficiaries of the six-week training programme include: Ogbonnaya Onyeka Adorable, Okoronkwo Ngozi Blessing, Onyeador Joan Edd, Ngwu Uchechi Mercy, Patricia Blessing, Njaka Uzoaku Kate, Yea Chinatu Inyama, Okafor Chinecherem Mary Jane, Okoro Precious Ezinne and Okoronkwo Chinecherem Nwankwo. Others are: Ogbonnaya Mary, Kanu Chinenye Gift, Godwin Chinenye Favour,  Anicho Joy Nnennaya, Chukwumere Ebubechi, Okoronkwo Dorcas Ngozi, Okay Janet Inyama, Onyema Ugochi, Okoroafor Nkemjika and Okereke Fortune. The rest are: Okoro Chidera, Orji Ugochukwu John, Okoroafor Izuchukwu A,  Chijioke Chukwudi, Kanu Emmanuel Kelechi, Okafor Kelechi Devine, Egede J. U. Godwin, Ogbonnaya Chigozie, Okereke Solomon and Nwosu Emeka. Aro News learned that the Federal Government Capacity Development Programme is in two streams: GSM Repairs and Auto Gele/Make-up. At the end of the programme, participants are to be given starter kits for their trades and some allowances. At the time of filing this report, Nzuko Asaga leaders were making arrangements for transportation and accommodation of the selected participants in the programme. President General of Nzuko Asaga, Barr Charles Onwumere, charged the youths to be good ambassadors of Asaga village, urging them to take advantage of the various empowerment programmes made available to them. He also said that some Asaga patriots are committing a lot of resources to the youth empowerment and development programmes, to lift the people out of poverty.
