Excitement as construction work begins on Ncheghe Market road

There was excitement on October 22, 2020, as Mazi Emmanuel Kanu (until recently the Transition Committee Chiarman of Arochukwu LGA), flagged off the construction of Ibom-Ujari road otherwise known as Ụzọ Ncheghe. 

The road, which is the shortest link to Ujari and Amasu villages through Ibom, has been in deplorable state for a long time and has been a nightmare for commuters who ply the route.

Speaking at the flag off ceremony at Ibom village square, Mazi Emmanuel Jideofor Kanu encouraged the people of the area to accommodate the construction workers and give them a safe environment to enable them deliver effectively. 

He expressed the hope that the job will be completed and delivered on or before the end of the year. 

Also speaking at the occasion, the Acting President General of Ibom Welfare Union, Mazi Emmanuel C. Okoro, expressed delight over the development and pledged the support of the youths and entire people to ensure the project is completed.

The representative of Eze Aro, Mazi Oji Kanu Oji; Mazi Kanu Okereke Kanu, Eze Ibom Isii and Mazi Okoroafor Uroh, Eze Ezeagwu, in their prayers, wished the chairman well in his endeavors.

The official flag-off was heralded by the cutting of the tape by the TC Chairman accompanied by others. 

The event was graced by the Acting TC Chairmen of the LGA, Cheif Daniel Ogbuagu, Chief Emma Awah, PDP stakeholders in the LGA and other dignitaries.

For the people of Ibom and Ujari villages, it was a dream come true, as they expressed their gratitude to the government for approving the road construction.
