Surgeon and former minister of the Federal Republic turned 68 on the 14th of June. A native of Ndianiche Uno, Arondizuogu, he had his education at the Government School, Owerri and the University of Nigeria. He was consultant obstetrician and gynecologist/ medical director, C olliery Hospital, Enugu; Hon. Commissioner for Agriculture, Imo State; Hon. Minister for Commerce and Tourism, 1997-1998 and Hon. Minister for Labour and Productivity,1998-1999, Federal Republic of Nigeria. His tenure as Labour Minister witnessed no industrial action in the country. He is a member of many professional bodies and recipient of many accolades. He is married to Patricia and blessed with children.
