The remains of Mazi Frank Ogbonnaya (Teacher Frank) were laid to rest at his home in Ndichioka compound, Obinkita, Arochukwu, on the 6th of June, 2015. Born about 85 years ago, he was educated at Mission School, Arochukwu; Opobo High School; High Elementary Teachers Training College in Uzuakoli and Ukam and the Hope Waddell School, Calabar.
Teacher Frank taught and also established many schools in Ikwuano LGA of Abia State. His service as a life molder saw him render selfless service at Umuariaga Primary School, Umudike; Amoba Central School and Umuigu Primary School, Oboro. In appreciation of his hard work, he was promoted to Headmaster grade 1 in 1980, a position he held until retirement in 1985.

A peace loving man, Mazi Ogbonnaya upon his retirement, returned to Arochukwu, joined the Presbyterian Church, Amaeze parish, Obinkita and served the church in many capacities including Parish Treasurer for many years, Parish Board Clerk and Secretary, Mary Slessor Memorial Management Committee; member, Men’s Christian Association etc. In 2012, Teacher Frank became the first non-elder of Amaeze parish to be honoured as “Father of the Year”
He is survived by his wife Victoria, children and grand children. May his soul rest in peace.
