He was just sixty nine,
When he was called to heaven,
That gifted brother of mine.
He always took care of home,
Whenever I travelled,
That gifted brother of mine.
They needed a new star up yonder,
And a brighter light they couldn’t find to shine,
God decided he was meant for,
A star and so He sent for,
That gifted brother of mine.

A Bongo king was needed,
To lead the band in heaven,
And so my brother they called,
He will satisfy all listeners,
To Bongo sound in heaven,
That gifted brother of mine.
They needed a new star up yonder,
And a brighter light they couldn’t find to shine,
God decided he was meant for,
A star and so He sent for,
That gifted brother of mine.
