Divine Power holds annual thanksgiving

On Sunday, 29th of November 2015, the temporary church auditorium of the Divine Power Pentecostal Chapel Inc. mechanic Village Ajao Estate Lagos, experienced an overflow as members and guests filed its auditorium to thank God in a grandstyle.

Tagged “Glory to Glory” this year’s thanksgiving was combined with other activities such as love feast, divine day of colours and fund raising for its proposed new Church auditorium the ‘Shepherd cathedral’.

The event started at 11.00 am in the morning with a thanksgiving church service anchored by the Founder/General Overseer of the Church, Rev. Emmanuel O. Okereke who was gorgeously dressed as an Aro man. He led the opening session of the service and charged the members and guests to always find a way of appreciating God at all times. He also prophesied into the lives and businesses of everyone that attended with a plea to God to expand and enlarge their coast in every ramification.

The climax of the event was when Mazi Sam I. Ohuabunwa, MON, OFR, mounted the pulpit this time around not to deliver his usual business and entrepreneur lecture, but to take the members and audience through the benefits of serving and thanking God using himself as an example. Mazi Sam did justice to his sermon titled ‘’ Glory to Glory, living this life to its fullest”, and shared his story of success due to his full commitment and continues sacrifice to God in all his deeds. He also spoke of how his life was transformed in all his endeavours even outside the shores of the country and attributed all to God rewarding him as a result of his faithfulness. He charged all the guests and members to continue to keep faith in God and believe in his glory, while reiterating the fact that everyone carries the glory of God but requires some sacrifices to activate the glory. Mazi Sam who was in attendance with his wife, likened our relationship with God to that of a man and his wife, who aplogise to each other when offended.

Mazi stated that for Christians to live life to its fullest in Christ Jesus, they need to activate the Glory of God in them through the service and committed to the order of the commission of Jesus Christ.
After the sermon, members and guests danced to the altar to offer thanksgiving to God. Among the groups present was Amuvi Welfare Union, Lagos branch, Ezienyi Club Arochukwu etc.
