Crunchies boss, Jude Nwosu, elected Aba Sports Club President

Proprietor of the Crunchies chain of fast food eatries, Mazi Jude Nnamdi Nwosu (Ugwu Aro) has been elected President of Aba Sports Club 1926.

Nwosu floored his closest rival by an unprecedented wide margin in a keenly contested election conducted on November 29, 2017, at the Club House.

He polled 502 of the 644 votes to defeat Sir I.C. Mark, who polled 85 votes.

The Electoral Committee which consisted of Dr. EJU Ihekwoaba as Chairman, and Hon. Ngozi Ulunwa and Lady Ongodi Nkwoji as members, had a herculean task counting the votes as the exercise stretched into the early hours of November 30.

Others elected alongside Nwosu are Nkene Enukeme as Club Secretary; Darlington Nwokoro (Assistant Secretary); Ifeanyi Ejike, Bar Secretary; Mrs. Ifeoma Isaac, Sports Secretary, and Mrs. Ifeoma Emeruem, Social Secretary.

In his remarks, the out-gone President of the Club, Sir Godfrey Uzagbara (Enyikwonwa) charged Nwosu to bring his experience to bear in the management of the Club.

Born in Sapele, Delta State in1959 to the family of late Mazi Donatus Nwosu of Amuvi village, Arochukwu, Jude Nnamdi Nwosu completed his early education at Christ The King Elementary School, Aba. He thereafter proceeded to St. Michael’s Secondary School, Oguta for post primary education. He left Nigeria for the United States of America and obtained a Bachelors of Science Degree in Management from the A & M University, Alabama and capped it up with an MBA from Morgan State University, Baltimore, Maryland.

Ugwu Aro is the Managing Director of Crunchies Fried Chicken Ltd; Fruity Foods Ltd and Vivendi Wines Ltd. He is married and blessed with four children and grandchildren.
