He is the first African winner of The International Economic History Association prize for the best doctoral research; winner, Coopers and Lybrand special merit award; visitor, London School of Economics; examiner, University of London; past director, C & I Leasing Plc, Senior Lecturer, Banking and Finance at UNN and member, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Monetary Policy Committee, etc. He is married to Loretta and they are blessed with children.
