As it’s customary, Ugwuakuma village, under the auspices of Ugwuakuma Development Union (UDU), celebrates Ugwuakuma Day on December 27 of every year.

However, the 2017 edition was remarkable. On that day, three major events were slated for celebration. First was the traditional display by branches of UDU which saw Abuja branch emerge victories as adjudged by the trio of Mazi Chijioke Ogbonnaya, Mazi Derrick Ukwu Okoronkwo and Mazi Ernie Onwumere.

Second was the patron investiture on four notable sons of Ugwuakuma who had served the union meritoriously. They are Julius Imuoh (JC), Moses Okey (Ochiriozuo), Cletus Ukpai and Moses Chukwu Okeh.

The third, and by no means the least, was fund raising for the proposed Ugwuakuma Primary Health Centre.
As the event was nearing its end, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, arrived, and announced to a cheering crowd that work will commence immediately on the proposed health centre. He promised o bring the contractor that will handle the project to Ugwuakuma before the 30th of December, to commence work on the project.
Aro News correspondent confirmed that work has indeed commenced on the project.
Others that also graced the occasion included the President General (P.G) of Nzuko Aro, Mazi George Ezuma, who equally pledged to assist in equipping the health centre when completed, and Mazi Emma Kanu Ivi, who chaired the occasion.

Also at the occasion were the Secretary-General (S.G) of Nzuko Aro, Mazi Anicho Okoro, Mazi Ijoma O Ijoma (Ochiwar) and several others.
