Sam Ohuabunwa bags NPOM award

A member of Aro News Publications Board of Directors and columnist, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa (OFR), was on the 22nd of May, 2018, conferred with the prestigious National Productivity Order of Merit (NPOM) award by the Federal government, under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity.

The event, which took place at the NAF Conference Centre and Suites, Kado, Abuja, had in attendance several dignitaries including President Muhammadu Buhari, who personally conferred the awards on the recipients. It also had in attendance the Minister for Labour and Productivity, Dr. Chris Ngige, senators, members of the House of Representatives and several other Nigerians as well as the diplomatic community.

Born on the 16th of August, 1950, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa was educated at Okrika Grammar School; Government College, Owerri, the University of Ife and several other institutions.

He joined Pfizer Products Plc in 1978 as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative, rose through the ranks and retired as President of Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals Plc. He is the Chairman of Multimesh Group, Masta Services Ltd etc. He is a Fellow of many professional organizations as well as Patron of many socio-cultural organizations.

He is a past President of Aro-Okeigbo Social Club of Nigeria (AROSON), President General of Nzuko Aro etc. He was conferred with an honorary doctorate degree by the Gregory University, Uturu, Abia State in December 2017 and is equally the recipient of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OFR) and Member of the Officer of the Niger (MON).

He is married to Lady Stella.
