Abbey Mortgage Bank Plc has announced the appointment of a Chartered Accountant, Mazi Emma Kanu Ivi, as the new chairman of its board of directors.
He succeeds Chief Ifeanyi Ochonogor, the bank’s chairman, who retired on February 28, 2020.
Mazi Ivi is coming to the position with a rich experience in Management and Leadership; Banking and Finance; as well as Accounting and Taxation.
Besides, he had served at top levels in oil and pharmaceutical businesses among other sectors of the economy.
Ivi is an alumnus of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and the University of Lagos.
He holds the Fellowship of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) among other professional bodies.
Prior to this appointment, Ivi has been an effective member of the Board of Abbey. He also sits on the Board of Directors of other companies, some of which he presides.
Ivi is expected to successfully drive the Board of Abbey Mortgage Bank Plc towards its on-going transformation into a full-fledged bank.
His new appointment has already been communicated to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on March 17, 2020.
