KCI Volunteer Team visits Arochukwu Prisons, plans child sensitization programs


A non-governmental organization in Arochukwu, King Jesus Charity international recently, visited inmates of the Correctional Center, Arochukwu. The group led by their vision bearer Evang. Frank Elekwa visited the Centre with items such as toothbrushes, toothpastes, slippers, detergents, soaps, clothes and Bible study materials. Evang. Elekwa stated that the visit became necessary after they had taken a survey of the number of inmates and their needs. He said the visit was a missionary project they initiated to win souls for Christ and to kickoff activities for their volunteer team who were inaugurated in July 2020..

Receiving the visitors in his office, the Chief Correctional Officer, Mr. Victor Onyemulu thanked the group for their compassion and care for the inmates, stating that the Correctional Center was not the end of the road for anybody but a place to correct people who have committed one offence or the other. He called on well-meaning individuals and organizations to bring the good news to the inmates and also help in their efforts of rehabilitating them to make them better citizens when reunited with the society.

The KCi Chief Stewart while speaking to Aro News correspondent stated that their next project will be on Boy child and Girl child orientation. The Girl child programme will hold in October 2020 while the Boy child programme will hold in December 2020 respectively.
