Prof OC Nwana laid to rest

The remains of Nigerian’s most senior professor of Education, Prof. Obioha Chima Nwana (OC Nwana) was committed to mother earth on Friday the 18th of December, 2020 at his country home, in Ndianiche Uno, Arondizuogu, Ideato North LGA of Imo State.

Born on the 15th of April, 1934 to the first Igbo Reverend Minister of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Oka Nkuzi na University of Nigeria, Nsukka, (UNN) was educated at Methodist College, Uzuakoli; Dennis Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha; University College of the Gold Coast, Ghana; the University of London; the University of Sydney, Australia; and the University of Ibadan.

He lectured at the University of Ibadan, University College of Cardiff, the University of Basutoland, the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, the Abia State University, Uturu and the Imo State University, Owerri.

Omekaibeya was a one-time Special Adviser to the Minister for Education, Consultant on Research, Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council; Fellow, Science Teachers Association of Nigeria, and the Nigeria Academy of Education, etc.

Ugwu Aro was member, Eze Advisory Council; Patron, Arondizuogu Students Association; Chairman, Diaspora Committee, Aro 2002 Commission; member, All Aro National Conference etc.

He is listed in several Who-is-Who and left to mourn him, Prof (Mrs.) O C Nwana, children and grand children.
