Nigerian Football Supporters Club honours Elvis Ogbonna

The host of one of the biggest football tournaments currently on going in Arochukwu, Mazi Ifeanyi Elvis Ogbonna, has been honoured by the Nigerian Football Supporters Club with an ambassadorship award. 

Ogbonna received the award from the NFSC led by its National Chairman, Rev Samuel Ikpea, at his Victoria Island office. 

The award was bestowed on Ogbonna on the 2nd of December 2020 at his office on Victoria Island, Lagos. The ceremony was witnessed by a large number of members of Nigerian Football Supporters Club.

In his speech, the Chairman of the Supporters Club, Rev Samuel Ikpea disclosed his delight in conferring the award on Ignes, noting that his zeal towards the development grass root sports deserves even more than the award.

He also said as an ambassador of the Supporters Club, Ogbonna is now a member of the family and will be called upon anytime his assistance is needed, stating that he is the 3rd person to receive the award which started this year.

Ambassador Ifeanyi Elvis Ogbonna, while receiving the award, thanked the Chairman and members of Nigeria Football Supporters Club for the honour, stating that he was overwhelmed with happiness and that his doors will always remain open to them anytime, as he will be willing to assist them anytime he is been called upon.

He also informed members of the Club that the final match of the football competition organized by his foundation, (Ignes Ogbonna Foundation) will take place in his home town Arochukwu Abia State, sometime in January, 2021. 

He said that the Minster of Steel and Mines, Minister of Sports, amongst other dignitaries, will be present to watch the final match, the winner of which will go home with a cash prize of One Million Naira.

Responding, the chairman of the Supporters Club promised that the members of the Supporters Club will be present to add colour and vive to the final match.

The Ignes Ogbonna football competition was at the knockout stage as at the time of filing this report. The finals and closing ceremony is schduled to take place on December 30, 2020.
