INEC returns Ohuabunwa, Nkole, others

The Independent National Electoral Commission has issued Certificates of Return to all the successful candidates in the March 28, 2015 Presidential and National Assembly elections held in Abia State. The ceremony took place at the state headquarters of the commission in Umuahia; the date was Thursday, 16 April 16, by 11am. Ambassador Lawrence Nworukwu, a national commissioner, represented the chairman of the commission at the event. During the occasion, the eight successful members-elect of the House of Representatives were issued their certificates of return too by INEC. They included Sir Uko Nkole of Arochukwu-Ohafia Federal Constituency; Nnenna Elendu-Ukeje of Bende Federal Constituency; Nkeiruka Onyejeocha of Isuikwuato-Umunneochi Federal Constituency and Sam Onuigbo of Ikwuano-Umuahia North-Umuahia South Federal Constituency. Others were Solomon Adaelu of Osisioma-Ugwunagbo-Obingwa Federal Constituency; Darlington Nwokocha of Isiala Ngwa North-Isiala Ngwa South Federal Constituency; O C Prestige of Aba North-Aba South Federal Constituency (the only APGA member), and Nkem Uzoma Abonta, of Ukwa East-Ukwa West Federal Constituency.

Also during the occasion, certificates of return were issued to Chief T A Orji, the immediate past governor of Abia State and the senator-elect for Abia Central Senatorial Zone; Hon Mao Ohuabunwa, senator-elect, Abia North Senatorial Zone and Chief Enyinnaya Abaribe, the Chairman, Public Affairs Committee of the 7th Senate, and senator-elect, Abia South Senatorial Zone.In their post-collection speeches, Hon Mao Ohuabunwa and Sir Uko Nkole indicated that their elections meant a true reflection of their acceptance by the people and invited those who had contested with them to join them towards the overall development of Abia North Senatorial Zone and Arochukwu-Ohafia Federal Constituency respectively. They also reiterated their earlier promises of effective representation of the people. Abia State chairman of the PDP, Senator Emma Nwaka, the deputy chairman (Abia South), Chief Allen Nwachukwu, well-wishers of the PDP family and friends of the elected persons were in attendance at the colourful ceremony.
