Professor of political science and former Chairman, National Electoral Committee turned 73 on the 2nd of October. A native of Ajalli, he attended Boy’s Vocational College, Ohafia; Macgregor College, Afikpo and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he bagged a first class degree in political science. He was Commissioner, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Commissioner for Health in Anambra State before his appointment as NEC chairman. He is best remembered for his option A4 method for elections in Nigeria. He is listed in several Who-is-Who in the world. Ugwu Aro is married to Stella and blessed with children and grandchildren.
