Business mogul and community leader clocked 75 on the 10th of January. A native of Umueve village, Ajalli, SIC as he is fondly called was educated at Government College, Umuahia; University College, Ibadan (Nigeria College, Zaria campus) and London University. He was Managing Director, National Oil and Chemical Marketing Company; Chairman and member of the board of Shell in Sudan, Ethiopia, South Africa and Kenya; Director, Meristem Securities Ltd and at present, Executive Chairman, West Africa Bitumen and Emulsion Company (WABECO). Ugwu Aro was Chairman, Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria and a community leader in Ajalli. He is married to Ngozi and blessed with children and grandchildren.
