The Aggrey Memorial College (AGMECO) Arochukwu Alumni Association has lined up a series of activities to round off the year amid its Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The association headed by Mazi Emma Okoro Egbukwu set aside December 30 to hold its first lecture series on Dr Alvan Ikoku under the theme: “Life and Times of Dr Alvan Ikoku”, starting 5pm at the Accord Hotel, Atani.
On Day-2, the association said its AGM starts at 10am on December 31, culminating in an election at the Abna Hall, in the College premises.
To conduct the election into a new Exco, a three-member electoral committee drawn from the Board of Trustees (BoT) has been empanelled comprising Mazi Okoro Nwaka (Chairman), Mrs. Nnennaya Achi-Nwankwo (Secretary) and Mazi Donatus Okorie as a member.
Already, the electoral committee has invited interested candidates to notify its Secretary (08132501453), and indicate the offices they wish to vie for. It further gave deadline for indication of interest as midnight of December 25, 2022.
Offices to be vied for, according to the committee, are:
- President (1 slot)
- Vice President (2 slots – Nigeria and Diaspora)
- Secretary General (1 slot)
- Asst. Sec. Gen. (2 slots – Nigeria and Diaspora)
- Treasurer (1 slot)
- Financial Secretary (1 slot)
- Auditor (1 slot)
- Publicity Secretary (1 slot)
- Provost (1 slot)
All contestants, it further noted, must be “up-to-date” in the association’s financial records.
