The remains Pa Emmanuel Ndukwe Nkole, father of the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Uko Nkole, has been committed to mother earth at Ozu Abam in Arochukwu LGA of Abia State.
Born on December 28, 1940, he was educated at the Hope Waddell Training Institute, Calabar. At Hope Waddell, Emmanuel Ndukwe Nkole was not only known for his academic excellence, but more for his exceptional accomplishments in sports especially football. He played in the school team. His exploits as a prolific, talented footballer earned him recognition, popularity and respect during his days as a student in Calabar.
He began his working career as a teacher and later joined the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in 1979 as a clerical officer. While at the CBN, his long desire to pursue higher education resurfaced. He applied and gained admission to the University of New Delhi, India, to further his education.
He was granted study leave by the CBN. He graduated from the University of New Delhi with a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and returned to Nigeria in 1985 to resume his work with Central Bank of Nigeria.
He worked in several branches and made his mark as an internal auditor with the bank. He retired voluntarily and meritoriously from the services of the Central Bank of Nigeria as a senior manager in 2005.
Pa Nkole was a devout Christian, philanthropist and community leader. He was honoured for his contribution toward the development of Ozu Abam by the Ozu Abam Development Union.
He died on December 24, 2020, leaving behind to mourn him, children, grandchildren and other relations.
