How Miss Amuvi and Mr. Amoba emerged winners of pageant

Miss Precious Amarachi Akabueze and Mr. Chimdi Kanu were on the 29th of December 2019 crowned Most beautiful Girl in Arochukwu and Mr. Arochukwu respectively. The event which took place at the Main Hall, Nmadiya Hotels, Oror, Arochukwu saw hundreds converge at the venue to witness the making of a new beauty Queen and King.

The event was the grand finale of a 4 day long exercise embarked upon by contestants from villages in Arochukwu. 15 contestants registered for the event while 10 were selected after auditioning and eviction.

Does that made it to the final are Miss Olivia Orji (Amannagwu), Mary Idika (Amukwa), PraiseGod Anthony (Amasu), Glory Okoronkwo (Agbagwu), Precious Akabueze (Amuvi), Gift Madu (Amangwu). Others are Imaculate Ota (Atani) and Kanu Chimdi (Amoba), Chinecherem Okite (Agbagwu) and Frank Emmanuel (Obinkita).

The contestants thrilled the audience with various dances and fashion parade where they were appeared in five different attires: Cheerleaders style, Agbada/Danchiki outfit, Traditional, Creative attire and Dinner gown/corporate.

The show featured lots of Arochukwu artist and invited artistes who took the stage to entertain the overcrowded hall. They entertained in music, rap, dance, and comedy. Award winning Mc, OAP and comedian, MC Klassical anchored the show.

The trio of Queen Adaeze Tyra, Mr. Dike and Queen Mother Pecious had a herculean task in arriving at the winner of the event.

At the end of collation of results,Miss Amuvi, Precious Akabueze was announced the as Most Beautiful Girl in Arochukwu while Mr. Amoba, Chimdi Kanu was announced as Mr. Arochukwu. Also, Miss Amangwu, Gift Madu who had earlier in the year won Miss FAYA Lagos Branch emerged the 1st runner up (Miss Arochukwu Culture and Tourism) with Miss Agbagwu, Glory Samuel Okoronkwo as the 2nd runner up (Miss Arochukwu Personality). They all received their cheques and prizes.

Speaking with newsmen one of the organizers of the show, Dr. Igwe Umozuruike, expressed great joy for a successful 3rd edition praying that the contest will keep improving every year. He said that the 3rd edition was tagged “The Sophisticated Queen” adding that the theme for every year will reflect the aims and objectives of the contest.

Earlier, the President of Goldsbog Events and Services, organizers of the contest had highlighted some of the successes of the group and outstanding humanitarian services carried out by the Queens which cut across primary healthcare, education, sanitation, girl child care, orphans and widows adding that the group will continue with such community development projects for the good of Aro kingdom. He also thanked Umu Aro for supporting the project since 2017.

In another development, the third edition of Arochukwu Impact Awards also took place on the same day and same venue. Several Aro sons and daughters were recognized specially for outstanding performance in the previous year. They include Mazi Obi Chijioke, Mazi Chekwas Oti, Mazi Chibuike Jonas, Moses Jeff, Madam Beatrice and Eric Kalu.

Among dignitaries who graced the event are Mazi Azubike Okoro (Ugwu Aro), Mazi Goddy Ijoma (Ugwu Aro), Mazi JC Imuoh (Ikemba Aro), Mazi Ugo Okoro of Aro News, Queen Ifeoma Osondu (Mgbede Aro 2019), members of FAYA Worldwide, Nzuko Aro women’s wing and many others.
