Residents of Atani village, Arochukwu, were in celebration mood on February 22, as an illustrious son of the community Mazi Obasi Lawson (Sobaz) stormed the village with officials and contractors from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to flag off the construction of the three entry and exit roads in the village.

The roads are Atani-Amuvi road (beginning from Mgbala Ekpe end), Ngodo Road (from Atani round-about to the boundary with Akwa Ibom neighbours, and Ndi Okwara transformer, through to Amukwa-Ugbo- Amankwu, to Obinkita axis. 

The project is to commence immediately while labour is to be sourced from the community. 

Ezeogo Atani, Mazi Charles Okoro; President, Atani Welfare Union (home branch), and Atani youth President signed for the community, while the contract and the project officer of Abia State signed on behalf of NNDC.
