Okwara Aro loses dad, Mazi Stephen Onoh

The first Vice President of Nzuko Aro Lagos branch, Deacon Eugene Onoh (Okwara Aro), has lost his father, Mazi Steven Kanu Onoh.

A retired teacher and community leader in his native Ugwuakuma Village, Mazi Steven Onoh (Onyagu) died on April 15, 2020, at the age of 91 years.

He was born in 1929, into the family of late Mazi Onoh Onyeike in Andi Onoh compound and late Madam Emoji Onoh Onyeike of Ndi Uvu na Ezumah compound, Ugwuakuma Village, Arochukwu.

He attended St. Peter’s Catholic School, Ugwuakuma Uzo, Biase LGA in Cross River State and obtained his first school leaving certificate at St. Paul’s Catholic School, Ututu, Arochukwu LGA in 1943.

Onyagu taught at the following schools: St. Josephs School Ndi Okoro Ugwuakuma Uzo, St. Augustins School Idoma Biase LGA, Cross River State, PTC Tutu and St. Paul’s School Itu.

He also taught at St. Augustine’s School Idoma Biase LGA, Cross River State, St. Peter’s Catholic School Ugwuakuma Uzo. 

He equally taught at Aggrey Primary School, Ibom, Aruchukwu and retired at the Army Children’s School, Ohafia. 

He was a member of Ojimba Age Grade, served as a two time Secretary of Eze Ogo cabinet, past Chairman, Ugwuakuma Community Primary School (PTA) and Secretary, Ndi Onoh Compound

A devout Catholic, Mazi Onoh slept in the Lord on April 15, 2020. He is survived by children, grandchildren and a host of other relations.
