Civil engineer and petroleum marketer clocked 77 on the 10th of January. A native of Umueve village, Ajalli, Orumba North LGA, Anambra State, Ugwu Aro was educated at Government College Umuahia and the University College, Ibadan (Nigerian College, Zaria campus). He was a pupil and assistant engineer, Nigeria Railway Corporation; Reseller Engineer, Field Engineer, Operations Planning Manager, Shell; Managing Director, Shell Sierra Leone, Chairman, Shell in Sudan, Ethiopia, South Africa, Kenya and Mozambique; Managing Director, National Oil and Chemical Marketing Company Ltd and at present, Chairman, WABECO.
SIC, as he is fondly called, is a member of many organisations. He is married to Ngozi and they are blessed with children and grandchildren.
