A new Eze Otusi has been crowned by Ugwuakuma community in line with Aro tradition. He is Mazi Onoh Ivi of Nde Alicho compound in Ugwuakuma village Arochukwu. Mazi Onoh Ivi until this appointment was the Eze Ezi representing Nde Alicho compound in the village council. He is 56 years of age and grounded in Aro traditions. His installation follows the demise and burial of the former Eze Otusi Aro, Mazi Okoroafor Okwara of Nde Uvu na Ezuma compound since 2020. His exit created a vacuum as to who is qualified to hold this royal stool. Mazi Onoh Ivi who’s late father Mazi Okwara Ivi held the office of Eze Otusi for many years, was also the errand boy of late Mazi Okoroafor Okwara .His experience from his own father and his successor now Mazi Okoroafor Okwara will be useful in the execution of this assignment. Earlier this year the community has sort to fill the vacant stool of Eze Otusi to avoid further lack on the demands of our traditional institutions. Because Mazi Onoh who was hired last year performed the ‘‘awada’’ priest assignment creditably well, Ugwuakuma community saw in him the good qualities at the last ikeji festival Aro and approached him for the job of the chief priest of the kingdom.

After due consultation Mazi Ivi gave his words in acceptance, and so on Saturday 3rd  September 2022, after due process of presenting him to the entire Ugwuakuma community, Nde Okoronkwo and Obichie compounds as tradition will demand, crowned him Eze Otusi of Aro kingdom by Umu Otusi who has the traditional rite to such a responsibility in Ugwuakuma.
