SOBAZ Attracts More NDDC Projects To Aro

Chief Obasi Lawson (SOBAZ), Atani, Arochukwu-born outstanding philanthropist, has again attracted additional infrastructural projects to Arochukwu Kingdom.

In addition to the network of roads and solar street lights already completed in Atani and other villages in Arochukwu, SOBAZ has attracted additional over 2000 stands of solar street lights to illuminate Arochukwu villages.

The new roads and solar street lights which are sited at Atani, Amuvi and Asaga villages were flagged off in Arochukwu Tuesday 10, December, 2024 before a mammoth crowd of villagers.

Speaking during the flag-off ceremony at Atani Hall premises Arochukwu, Chief Obasi Lawson said that he is proud to be Nwa Aro, and thanked God for giving him the enablement to contribute to the development of Arochukwu, promising to do more.

He disclosed that the projects this time around are internal roads in Amuvi and Asaga villages as well as in Atani which would commence on a later date.

SOBAZ also said that solar street lights which are over 2000 stands would be installed simultaneously with the road projects.

In his own remarks, Chief Matt Offeh,  CEO of Peoples Concept, the NDDC contractor handling the projects disclosed that the 11 kilometers of road leading to Ini LGA in Akwa Ibom State had been approved for construction while 5.1 km job on internal roads in Arochukwu had commenced.

Chief Offeh appreciated Arochukwu people, especially their youths for being peaceful and respectful.

Also speaking, Mazi Charles Kanu Okoro, Ezeogo Atani and Mazi Thomas Nlennanya Okoroji, Eze Amuvi lauded SOBAZ for his developmental milestones in Arochukwu.

The highlight of the ceremony was the “site hand over” of the projects to Ezeogos of Amuvi, Asaga and Atani villages.

Also present at the flag-off ceremony were officials of the NDDC, Dr. Eustace Njaka, the coordinator of the J&T Foundation, Hon. Jideofo Kanu, Coordinator of the projects and members of the respective village cabinets.

Aro News correspondent reports that construction work has already commenced at the road in Asaga leading to the residence of the founder of J & T Foundation, Dr Nwosu.
