Arochukwu Kingdom Neighourhood Watch finally inaugurated, operatives commence work

Arochukwu Kingdom Neighborhood Watch

The inauguration of the Arochukwu Kingdom Neighourhood Watch (AKNW) took place on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, with pump and pageantry at Ibom Hall. 

The exercise was jointly carried out by the Divisional Police Officer of Arochukwu, CSP Felix Okochi, and his Military Counterpart, Captain Goodnews.

The event, which had a Royal touch, was graced by the traditional institution led by the Arianzu Aro Kingdom, Mazi Augustine Kanu Okoro, in company of Eze Ibom Isii, Mazi Okereke Kanu Okereke, Eze Eze Agwu na Okwara Agwu, Mazi Okorafor Uro, Nde Eze Ogo and other notable Umu Aro. It equally had members of the security Management Team in attendance. 

In his remark, Chairman of the Arochukwu Kingdom Neighourhood Watch, ACP Chris Mbadiwe Kanu (rtd) advised the operatives to be disciplined while wearing the uniform and desist from taking undue advantage of it cause disharmony in the community. 

An elated Arianzu Aro, who spoke on behalf of the other Traditional Rulers, gave special thanks to God that finally, the Arochukwu Kingdom Neighourhood Watch which had their blessing and support from the cradle, has been officially recognized and inaugurated. 

That, he said, was a dream come through. While appreciating everyone that made it possible, the Arianzu seized the opportunity to advise the operatives not to turn the outfit into an instrument of vendetta, but always be law abiding while cooperating and collaborating with the security agencies in the Kingdom. 

Speaking on the need for support, Arianzu equally used the medium to appeal to Umu Aro not to sit on the fence any longer as AKNW is a reality but to come out en masse and support the outfit by ensuring that the operatives do not lack the operational tools necessary for effective policing of the Kingdom. 

A major highlight of the event was the official unveiling and inauguration of the kits by the DPO ably assisted by Captain Goodnews of the Nigerian Army. The DPO charged the operatives to be professional and not to drift while calling on Ndi Aro to support them. 

In their response, the Operational Commanders of the security outfit, namely, Mr. Nnanna Ukpabi, Elezuo Kanu, Chukwuma Okereke and Monday Iroegbu promised on behalf of their teams to be law abiding, and to deliver on their security mandates.
