ASCETA honours lawmaker Ukoha, Ujah Oji, Okey Imuoh and others

The Minority Whip/member representing Arochukwu State Constituency Abia House of Assembly, Hon. Onyekwere Mike Ukoha, has expressed gratitude to the management, staff and students of Abia State College of Education Technical, Arochukwu (ASCETA), for honouring him with an award as a Great Nation Builder in recognition of his high performance in lawmaking, representation as well as in educational development in Arochukwu LGA.

The lawmaker who stated this during ASCETA 2nd Annual National Conference,  titled ‘ Education for National Development, Implication for Teacher Education’ described education as a bedrock of every society. The event took place on the 18th of November, 2021 at the College Auditorium.

He thanked the Provost, Dr. Phillip Nto, the Deputy Provost, Dr. Solomon N. Iheonunekwu and the rest of the staff for deeming him feat to be so honoured.

Ukoha, lauded the transformational and developmental strides going on in the school and prayed God to bless them all.

Speaking while presenting the award to the lawmaker, Iheonunekwu explained that the school decided to honour him in recognition of his outstanding performance in the Abia State House of Assembly as well in infrastructural development.

Similarly, Comrade Oji Ujah Oji, a former President of the Students Union Government of ASCETA and National President of its Alumni Association, was honoured with the Eye of ASCETA award in recognition of his contribution to the development of the institution and as a dogged union leader.

A political scientist, Oji currently lectures at the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede. He is equally an Elder of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria and Secretary General of Okoroavigbo Family Union, Amuvi,

Other award recipients include Hon. Chidiebere Kalu, Commissioner for Establishment in Abia State, Mazi Eugene Okey Imuoh, Bishop Augustine Okereke, Prof Kanu Nkangineme etc.
