  • CEC Inaugurates Acting Nzuko Aro Womem’s Wing in Port Harcourt
  • Adamazi Mrs. Queeneth Ogechi Bailose is acting President General of Nzuko Aro women’s wing.
  • Nzuko Aro women’s wing led by Mrs. Chibuzor Onyekwere now a club for ladies of like minds
  • Acting Nzuko Aro women’s wing has one year to conduct election for the women.
  • Nzuko Aro to give Five Hundred Thousand Naira as grant to the newly inaugurated women’s wing.

The election that produced Mrs. Chibuzor was rejected by the entire women in Aro, because it was seen as a selected team rather than election by democracy. From what we saw, protest erupted by a faction of the women but that did not change the situation as Mrs. Chibuzor Onyekwere led Nzuko Aro women did not give ear to any such protect. Soon, Mrs. Chibuzor Onyekwere’s led Nzuko Aro women took their male counterpart to Eze Aro’s palace to protest that decision to cancel their elections. In a judgment passed by the three Eze’s in the kingdom, namely Mazi Augustine Okoro (immediate-past Ariazu of Aro kingom), HRH Kanu Nwa Kanu (Eze Ibom Isii) and HRH Eze Okoroafor Uror (Eze Eze Agwu na Okwaragwu) all agreed that the women were right in their election and should continue with their leadership. The three Ezes refused to listen to the voices of Nzuko Aro who watched in bewilderment over an illegality in their Constitution.

Nzuko Aro led by Mazi Dozie Udensi could not fly their ego anymore and therefore left in anger and frustration but insisted that no matter the judgment of the three wise men,  the election remains null, void and of no consequence.

When all efforts to reconcile the women and to conduct credible elections failed, the men resolved to stand up for their right. Don’t forget that CEC had earlier in a meeting adopted the dissolution of the former Exco of the Women’s Wing at the end of Mrs. Bright Elekwa’s tenure, shifted their planned elections and set up an Interim Management Committee for the women’s wing in line with the powers conferred on the CEC by the 1992 Constitution of Nzuko Aro. That every action taken in respect of the Women’s wing election which contravened the decision of the CEC was illegal, null and void and of no effect.

Consequently, an interim administration was set up with the mandate to coordinate the affairs of the women’s wing till the wing’s election is held, report election date, frozen all National Accounts of the Women’s wing. That Interim Management Committee had Mrs. Adamazi Ogechi Bialose as Chairperson, Mrs. Gift Onwuchekwa as Secretary, Pastor Mrs. Angela Ihebinandu – Member, Adaukwu Ogonnaya Onyechere – Adviser and Dame Mercy Jones – Chairperson National Body of Matrons of Women’s wing as Member. The Interim Management Committee of the women’s wing took over the affairs of Aro women worldwide but not without attacks and obstacles. They had several meetings; open and in closed doors through zoom channels.

But Mrs. Chibuzor Onyekwere led Nzuko inyom Aro supported by the immediate past President General of the women’s wing – Mrs. Bright Elekwa did not respect all overtures for peace. They stepped down all efforts made to reconcile the warring factions. It was very clear that Mrs. Chibuzor Onyekwere led women’s wing was up to something. They were ready to take their male counterparts head on because of their belief that the three kindred Ezes are with them.

And so when CEC met in Port Harcourt on the 18th of November, 2023 the entire activities of the Interim Peace Committee were reviewed viz-a-vis their findings and recommendations. They reported that Mrs. Onyekwere led Inyom Aro leadership frustrated all attempt at reconciliation and to make peace; to give way for the conduct of a credible election. They explained that they have had several meetings with patrons and patronesses of both male and female members of Nzuko Aro worldwide with a view to gathering ideas that would usher in peace in the entire women fold. They also interacted with Presidents and Secretaries of women wings in Nigeria and in the UK. They discovered lots of discrepancies and misappropriations on the part of the immediate past administration of Nzuko Aro women wing led by Mrs. Bright Elekwa and thus made the following recommendations to CEC

  1. That Nzuko Aro should appoint an Electoral Committee for Easter 2024 for election with clear terms of reference and in the exercise of their constitutional oversight authorities.
  2. Issue a public notice that the only leadership of Nzuko Aro women’s wing that would be recognized is the leadership that would be produced from the Easter 2024, elections, no more no less.

The conclusion of the reports, findings and recommendations of Mrs. Bialose led Peace Management Committee traumatized the CEC and thus the following decisions were taken:

  1. That Nzuko Aro Constitution does not recognize parallel body registered by Mrs. Onyekwere’s minority faction of the women’s wing and giving that its objectives is both unclear and suspicious, it remains an illegal club that will not receive endorsement from Nzuko Aro worldwide.
  2. That the purported expulsion of Mrs. Nwada Igwe and Mrs. Carol Okoroafor both National Patronesses of Nzuko Aro women’s wing was illegal since the illegal club unknown to Nzuko Aro Constitution lacks the constitutional powers to discipline National Officers without the approval of the CEC.
  3. That the purported removal from office of Mrs. Peace Okoro, the President of Nzuko Aro Women’s wing, Aba branch even when her constitutional term of office was still running, was callous, illegal and of no effect and therefore reversed by the CEC.
  4. Relying on Article 14 B Sub Section 8 of Nzuko Aro Constitution of 1992 which states that CEC can appoint Special Committee for any specific purpose and can adopt, amend or reject their report, adopted the recommendations of the Peace and Reconciliation Team set up by the Interim Management Committee. CEC therefore approved the appointment and swearing-in of Acting Central Working Committee (CWEC) of Nzuko Aro Women’s wing as follow:
  1. Mrs. Ogechi Bialose – Ag. President General
  2. Mrs. Celestina Onyebuchi – Ag. VPG 1
  3. Mrs. Gift Onwuchekwa (Onwa) – Ag. VPG 2
  4. Mrs. Eucharia Oti – Ag. National Secretary
  5. Mrs. Angela Ihebinandu – Ag. Asst. National Secretary
  6. Mrs. Pauline Ijeomah – Ag. National Treasurer
  7. Mrs. Ezinne Ochonma – Ag. National Fin. Sec.
  8. Mrs. Peace Okoro – Ag. Asst. Fin Sec.
  9. Mrs. Nene Oti – Ag. National Provost
  10. Mrs. Elizabeth Nkemakolam – Ag. National Welfare Officer
  11. Mrs. Rose Odoemenam – Ag. Asst. Welfare Officer
  12. Barr. Mrs. Helen Ijeomanta – Ag. National Legal Adviser

At the swearing-in ceremony, they were mandated to operate freely as a legitimate Nzuko Aro Women’s wing. Demand in writing from Nzuko Inyom Aro leadership and copy CEC the return all properties belonging to Nzuko Aro women’s wing, failure upon which the CEC will consider instituting legal processes to recover all such properties, especially the Aro Skills Acquisition Centre, if there were not returned to Nzuko Aro women’s wing on or before March, 2024. Conduct free and fair elections for a new Nzuko Aro women’s wing in the next one year and finally to open a functional account for Nzuko Aro women’s wing and make a formal request of sum of Five hundred Thousand Naira as take-off grant for the new team.

That is the end of the road for Mrs. Chibuzor Onyekwere led Nzuko Inyom Aro club. The result of disobedience is failure. Today, Mrs. Chibuzor Onyekwere leads a club called Inyom Aro in Arochukwu kingdom. The best of luck.

I don’t understand the direction of this report and the aim or the writer. You people will end up causing problems in every aspect of leadership in Arochukwu by the end of this year.

What type of peace committee reports its findings with such bias?

What is the role of NZuko Aro Ikom when there is a dispute between the women?

What do men do when their wives have misunderstanding, do you take sides or make peace.

We call ourselves wise, but unfortunately I haven’t been seeing wise decisions from our decisions lately.

    Something is definitely wrong.
