Retired civil servant and author clocked 86 on the 9th of November. A native of Atani village, he is the head of Aro Orji community in Owerri. He was educated at St. Patrick’s College, Ikot Ansa, Calabar and the Nigeria College of Arts, Science and Technology (Now OAU). Ugwu Aro retired from Imo State civil service as a Chief Protocol Officer in 1984. He was Commissioner, Imo State Local Government Commission and Chief Executive Officer of Winconsult Ltd. He is the first Imo indigene to receive the War Against Indiscipline (WAI) certificate from the Federal Government in 1985. He is married and blessed with children and grandchildren.
