FAYA elects Kanu President

Members of the Federated Arochukwu Youths Association (FAYA) from over 15 branches across Nigeria at its 3rd Quarter NEC meeting, converged at the Spelling Garden Hotels, Ogbor Hill, Aba, Abia State on the 12th and 13th November, 2021 to elect national officers who will be saddled with piloting the affairs of the union for the next three years.

Five delegates each represented the following branches in a keenly contested election, : Aba, Abakaliki, Arochukwu, Calabar, Enugu, Mgbirichi, Owerri, Onitsha, Oyigbo, Port Harcourt, Umuahia, Uyo, Kaduna, Lagos and Abuja.

At the end of the election, Mazi Ugorji Obasi Kanu, from Owerri branch was elected President. Others elected alongside Kanu are  Mazi Sunny Isaac Okoro, Vice president, Adamazi Victoria Ijeaku Okereke, Secretary, Adamazi Nora Chinenye Ijoma, Assistant secretary and Mazi Nnanna Henry, Omere, Treasurer. Others are Adamazi Njideka Eucharia NworieM Financial Secretary, Nwa Mazi Chigozie Nnadozie Udensi, Public Relations Officer, Adamazi Chinasa Nwokoro, Welfare and Mazi Okoronkwo Kanu, Chief whip

The outgoing president of the association, Mazi Henry Nwokike charged the new exco to continue with the spirit of unity of which FAYA is known for. He encouraged members to attend all events of the association billed for December 2021 at Arochukwu when the handover to the new exco will also take place
