A native of Ndianiche Uwakonye, Arondizuogu, Omekaibeya attended Methodist College, Uzuaokli; Dennis Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha; University College of the Gold Coast; University of London; University of Sydney and the University of Ibadan. He was Special Adviser, Ministry of Education; Professor and Dean of Education, UNN; emeritus professor of education, Abia State University and Imo State University. Ugwu Aro is a fellow of many associations as well as the Okankuzi na UNN. He is also patron of several Aro socio-cultural organizations. Ugwu Aro is married to Prof O.C. Nwana and blessed with children and grandchildren.
