Ogbonnaya Akoma

Public health practitioner, political scientist, public administrator, and a prolific writer, turned 55 on October 23. A native of Isimkpu Village and lover of Aro trado-cultural heritage, he was born at Atani, Arochukwu. He attended Amuvi Community Primary School, Amuvi, Arochukwu; Methodist College, Uzuakoli; College of Health Technology, Aba; Abia State University, Uturu; and National Open University of Nigeria. He is Chairman, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Chairmen’s Forum, Abia State and director in Abia State Civil Service. Akoma is the South East zonal correspondent of Aro News; he holds many editorial positions and was a part-time lecturer on English Language. He is Fellow, Society for Environmental Health of Nigeria, and member, defunct Publicity Committee, Okpamkpo, Arochukwu.

Akoma is married to Mercy, an Ndi Agor, Obinkita-born accountant, and they are blessed with five boys, one girl and a grandson.
