OJ Nnanna Appointed CBN Deputy Governor

The President and Commander –in- Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GCFR) has appointed Dr. Okwu Joseph Nnanna one of the Deputy Governors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). A native of Atani Village, Arochukwu, Ugwu Aro attended Le Salle University (Extension programme), Chicago, Illinios, and bagged an LL.B in Law; William Paterson University, Wayne, New Jersey, M.A, Public Policy; The University of Houston, Houston Texas, M.A in Economics and finally the University of Houston where he earned a PhD in Public Policy, in 1980.

OJ Nnanna, as he is fondly called, was an Adjunct Assistant Professor, University of Houston; Staff Economist, Central Bank of Nigeria; Lecturer, Federal Polytechnic, Akure; Staff Economist and Desk Officer, Africa Department, International Monetary Fund (IMF); Special Adviser to CBN Governor; Ag. Director and later Director of Research and Statistics, Central Bank of Nigeria; member, Nigeria Economic Management Team and Director General, West Africa Monetary Institute, Accra, Ghana.

He is life member, Nigeria Economic Summit; Council member, Institute of Social and Economic Research, Centre for Management Development, Financial Institution Training Centre, Macro Economic Group, Vision 20-2020; member, Editorial Board, Nigeria Journal of Securities and Finance etc.
Ugwu Aro was a recipient of Dr. Kwame Nkurumah leadership award in 2006. He is married and blessed with children.
