Bank-Anthony Okoroafor's firm wins marginal oil field

A firm belonging to Mazi Bank-Anthony Okoroafor (Ugwu Aro), member of the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria PETAN, and past Chairman and CEO of CB Geophysical Solutions Limited and Vhelberg International, is among marginal oil field awardees recently issued with Petroleum Prospecting License (PPL) by the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).

The NUPRC, in January this year, hosted all the potential awardees who had fully or partly complied with signature bonus payment in the 2020 marginal field programme.

The Chief Executive Officer of NUPRC, Engr. Gbenga Komolafe, had said that the marginal field initiative was conceived to entrench the indigenisation policy of the government in the upstream sector of the oil and gas industry.

According to him, the objective is to promote indigenous participation, increase oil and gas reserves, as well as production, encourage capital inflow, generate employment, and build local capacity in the sector

A native of Atani village, Arochukwu, Mazi Bankk-Anthony Okoroafor attended the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and the University of Surrey, United Kingdom. He worked with Schlumberger International in several countries of the world before setting up Vhelberg International Ltd.

He is also a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers International, Pipeline Association of Nigeria among several other organisations. He is married and blessed with children.
