The former Minority Whip/member, Arochukwu State Constituency in the Abia House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Mike Ukoha (NIA) has been appointed as the Special Assistant to the Deputy Speaker House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, on State Legislative Affairs.
In appreciation, the former Lawmaker expressed profound gratitude to the Deputy Speaker, for finding him worthy of the appointment.
He explained that his appointment is a testament to the fact that the Deputy Speaker was mindful of his legislative prowess when he was a member of the Abia State House of Assembly where he served meritoriously to the glory of God.
Hon. Ukoha promised to contribute his quota by supporting not only the Deputy Speaker in his legislative and representational responsibilities, but for the betterment of the country.
He prayed God to at all times give him the requisite wisdom so as to always discharge his duties creditably.
It will be recalled that Hon Ukoha was elected into the Abia State House of Assembly in 2019 under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to represent Arochukwu State constituency. While in the House, Hon. Ukoha emerged the Minority Whip and moved many motions and bills. One of his bills, Abians in Diaspora Bill was signed into law by the former governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu which led to the setting up of Abians in the Diaspora Commission.
