A former director of Corporate Communications at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), foremost journalist and director, Aro News Publications Ltd, Mazi Ugochukwu Agodi Okoroafor, has been appointed the Special Adviser on Monitoring and Evaluation to the Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti. A seasoned communication expert, Mazi Okoroafor was Editor of Financial Punch. He also served as Senior Assistant General Manager with Afribank before his appointment as the apex bank’s spokesman in 2012.
Upon his retirement from CBN, he proceeded to the Nigeria Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Plateau State, and later served as Special Adviser on Communication to the former Governor of CBN, Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. Mazi Okoroafor was Chairman, Publicity Committee of End of Ovia Uwasi, Exit of Eze Aro.
Similarly, the Governor of Abia State equally appointed Mazi Mike Akpara as Commissioner for Finance, Engr. Don Otumchere Oti as Commissioner for Works, Mazi Chimereze Okeigbo Okoro as Special Adviser, Internally Generated Revenue and Mazi Ogbonnia Okereke as General Manager, Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA).
