Arochukwu Town School 1 gets new classroom building

It was a moment of joy and fanfare recently at Arochukwu Town School, Amannagwu, Arochukwu as the Minority Whip/member representing Arochukwu State Constituency, Abia House of Assembly, Hon. Mike Ukoha, handed over a block of class rooms/office, which he facilitated, to the school authorities.

Speaking before the unveiling/handing over, Hon. Ukoha explained that when he was contesting as a lawmaker, he promised God that if He helped him to win the election, he would improve education infrastructure in Arochukwu LGA.

The lawmaker thanked God that the building has become a reality after many years dilapidation owing to neglect, expressing delight that he has made the pupils who will use of the class rooms to have a sense of belonging.

Hon. Ukoha, further stated that the new building will create enabling environment for teaching and learning.

He took the occasion to highlight some of his achievements and the move to export overseas some food stuff locally produced in Arochukwu LGA.  

In his remark, the Arianzu Arochukwu Kingdom, Mazi Kanu Okoro, thanked the lawmaker for the project, noting that there are indeed some politicians with integrity.

He prayed God to continue to bless him in his legislative assignment for the good of the people.

Also speaking, the Education Secretary, Arochukwu LGA, represented by Mrs. Regina Kanu, thanked Hon. Ukoha for putting smiles on the faces of the pupils.

She said posterity will be kind to him for helping in elevating educational standard in Arochukwu LGA because he knows the importance of education while thanking all those who came to witness the occasion.

In her welcome address, the Head Mistress of Arochukwu Town School 1, Mrs. Roseline Nwafor, represented by the Assistant Head Mistress, Mrs. Helen Umeh, thanked the lawmaker for remembering the school, stressing that it is a great achievement in the school and Arochukwu Kingdom.

She said working in the environment of a new-look school will boost the morale of the teachers, and motivate them to put in their best.

In their separate speeches, the President Nzuko Arochukwu Women’s Wing, Mrs. Blessing Okoro, a stakeholder in the area, Barr. Mrs. Carol Dike-Okorafor, Mrs. Charity Oti, and others danced a joyous dance, extolling the qualities of the lawmaker and his good works.

Highlights during the occasion included cutting of the tape to unveil the new school building, group photograph of the lawmaker with some pupils of the school among others
