AROSON Abuja branch re-inaugurated * Umu Aro in FCT excited over return of socialization forum

The Abuja branch of Aro Oke-Igbo Social Club of Nigeria (AROSON) has bounced back after some years of inactivity.

President of AROSON, Mazi Naira Okorafor, assisted by some executive officers of the Club, re-inaugurated the branch on July 15, 2022, at a brief but impressive ceremony, which took place in the Elite Suite of Rita Lori Hotels.

No fewer than 12 members of the branch were present.

Setting the ball rolling, the President counseled the Abuja branch members present to keep the flame of the Club aglow, and guard against the circumstances that extinguished it before.

He took them through the rudiments of the Club’s philosophy, conduct and procedures, culminating in administering the oath of office on the Protem Chairman of the branch, Mazi Fidelis Nwosu, and his Secretary.

Earlier, the President had given the Staff of Office – the symbol of authority – to Nwosu, and charged him to exercise the powers therein, for the good of the Club.

It would be recalled the AROSON had for years existed as a branch in Abuja.

However, for some inexplicable reasons, it went moribund, much to the chagrin of the national leadership.

In the intervening period, not a few Umu Aro resident in Abuja yeaned for an urbane forum to interact and socialize, hence the re-birth of the branch.

And to bounce back, the Lagos branch of the Club led by Mazi Chinedu Nwankwo, played the father figure role.

Present at the re-inauguration from Lagos were: Chairman, Mazi Chinedu Nwankwo; Vice Chairman, J.C Imuoh; Secretary, Mazi Ugo Okoro; Financial Secretary, Sir Adindu Elekwa; and Mazi Kingsley Nwosu Nwaka.

And from the national office were the Secretary-General, Sir Patrick Asonye; Publicity Secretary-General, Mazi Precious Chinatu Okoro, and the Provost-General, Mazi Jombo Ajunwa.

Former national officers who also witnessed the ceremony were Sir Kingsley Otti and Sir Anicho Okoro.
