Nzuko Aro Lagos ends year in grand style, as women's wing confer patronship on two members

Sunday, November 27, 2022 is a day Umu Aro domiciled in Lagos, who attend Nzuko Aro meetings will not forget in a hurry.

On that sunny Sunday afternoon, they gathered at Neniv Events Center along Murtala Muhammed International Airport, to merry and thank God for a successful year at the instance of one of the illustrious sons of Arochukwu, Mazi JC Imuoh.

The Ugwuakuma born builder wrote off the bill of the end-of-year get together. As early as 2pm, Umu Aro started trooping into the well decorated expansive hall owned by another prominent Aro elder, Arc Chima Chijioke (Ugwu Aro).

The event kicked off with the picking of kolanuts by the 19 villages after prayers. The exercise, which usually elicits excitement, saw villages competing with each other.

Food, choice drinks and music flowed as people took to the dance floor to mark another end of year.

The women’s wing of the union honoured Mrs. Betty Okoronkwo and Mrs. Rebecca Chijioke as patronesses.

In his remarks, the Managing Director of Aiteo A & P, Mazi Victor Ike Okoronkwo, charged Umu Aro in Lagos on the need to have a befitting hall of its own. He called on villages to pool resources and build a hall under the auspices of Nzuko Arochukwu rather than each village making plans to own their own properties. He stated that having a communal events hall will serve Aro interest better.

In his remark, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, urged Umu Aro to play active roles in the 2023 election. He reiterated the need for Umu Aro to vote and be voted for, pointing out that it is another opportunity for right some wrongs of the past.

President of the branch, Mazi Eugene Onoh, thanked members for their support. He equally thanked all invited guests who honoured the invitation.
