Nzuko Aro Lagos Holds End of Year Party, Makes 18 Members Patrons

For members of Nzuko Arochukwu Lagos branch, both men and women’s wing, Sunday, November 26, 2023, will remain evergreen in their memories. On that day, the men’s wing of the branch rolled out the drums and celebrated 18 of its members.

The event, which wore a solemn mood at the beginning because of the death of Arc Chima Chijioke, Ugwu Aro, proprietor of Nneniv Event and Conference Center – venue of the get together – soon became a beehive of affairs. A minute silence was observed in the honour of Arc Chima Chijioke.

Pastor Kingsley Okpo of the Assemblies of God Church gave an exaltation after which the event proper commenced. On the day, three person s were made Executive Patrons of the branch namely Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, OFR, Mazi Emma KanuIvi and MaziNnamdiUdo, all past President Generals of NzukoAro.

Thirteen members were inducted as branch patrons. They include Dr. J.K Onwuchekwa, Mazi Kanu Iroegbu, Mazi Emma Nnaekpe and Mazi Chinedu Nwankwo, who doubles as the Chairman of Aro-Okeigbo Social Club of Nigeria (AROSON), Lagos branch.

Others included Mazi Sam Achinivu; Mazi Okoro Eni Nwaka; Mazi Ike Okoronkwo, Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer of Aiteo E & P Ltd; Arc Ogbonnaya Kanno and Mazi Chima Okereke.

Mazi Kanu Azuturunmuo Kanu, Mazi Chris Ogwuma, Mazi Okoronkwo Okereke and Mazi Ugwudike Nicholas Okorie, made up the list of the newly appointed patrons, while the Special Adviser to the Governor of Abia State on Internally Generated Revenue, Mazi Chimereze Okoro  was honoured with a merit award.

Mrs Gift Onwuchekwa (Onwa), was chairperson of the 11-member committee which planned what turned out to be one of the best organized end of the party in recent times. 

The committee introduced this card admits one and informed Umu Aro that the party was exclusively for only members of the union from both wings, invitees of the awardees and not an all- comers affair. This approach did the magic and ensured that sanity prevailed at the party.

The biggest cheer came when Mazi Moses Kanu Nwamuo announced that he will host the 2024 end of the year party of the branch.

Most award recipients thanked the union for the honour done to them, as they opened their wallets and appreciated the union for a job well done.
