Okoronkwo, Chijioke swell AROSON Lagos scholarship fund with N6M donations

The AROSON Lagos branch scholarship fund recently received a boost with the donation of N500,000 by Mazi Victor Ike Okoronkwo (Ugwu Aro), and another N100,000 by Engr. Obi Chijioke.

They made the donations in Lagos on November 26, 2022.

Mazi Ike Okoronkwo specifically made the N500,000 donation during the Club’s end-of-year party in Lagos, where he was Special Guest of Honour.

The spectacular social event took place at Cynarisson Hotel in Ajao Estate, Lagos.

The stage set, members, their friends, and intending members, had reason to unwind and have fun, while savouring the rich menu and choice drinks in an exquisite ambience.

The Chairman, Mazi Chinedu Nwankwo, had welcomed everyone to the occasion, urging them to have fun, while also reviewing the Club’s activities of the year.

He also reiterated the programmes lying ahead of the Club, and the branch in particular, part of which is its scholarship scheme conceived for Aro students.

He urged members to key into the scheme, emphasizing its benefits to Arochukwu Kingdom as a whole.

Mazi Kingsley Otti, who chaired the scholarship committee, also gave a detailed run through of the scheme.

After listening to the presentations, Mazi Ike Okoronkwo was obviously impressed with the content and direction of the scheme.

He said: “I have listened to the presentations made here on the proposed scholarship scheme. It would be out of place for me to sit through, especially as a Guest of Honour, without making any comment. I am pleased with the idea of offering scholarship to our young ones.”

Thereafter, he announced a financial support to the scheme, saying: “I will support the scholarship scheme with a donation of N500, 000,” which elicited a resounding applause.

In a similar spirit, Engr. Obi Chijioke, though absent at the event, sent in a donation of N100, 000 to support the scheme.
