It was joy and celebration galore as twenty five lucky Umu Asaga benefited from the 2025-2026 Mazi Emma Kanu Ivi Scholarship Scheme (MEKISS).

In an event that took place recently at his country home in Asaga, Mazi Emma Ivi, who is also the Chairman, Board of Directors of Aro News Publications Ltd, assured that no Asaga child will be denied quality education due to poverty. In his remarks at the event, the President-General of Nzuko Asaga, Dr C.C Onwumere, expressed the gratitude of Asaga community and prayed God to continue to bless the grand patron of the union, Mazi Emma Ivi. 

He stated that Mazi has been in giving scholarships to Umu Aro for more than three decades and several Asaga sons and daughters some of whom are doctors, lawyers and directors are beneficiaries of his benevolence. 

He charged the students to be of good behavior, warning that indiscipline or membership of cults will automatically disqualify the student from any future grant. 

Thereafter, cheques were given to the twenty five lucky beneficiaries. The occasion was witnessed by HRH Mazi Amos Egbu Okoro, Eze Ibom Isii, HRH Mazi Okorafor Uro, Eze Ezeagwu na Okwaragwu, some Presidents Generals and Secretaries Generals of some village unions.
